Dougald Lamont
MLA Saint Boniface

Born at St. Boniface Hospital in 1969, the third of four children, Dougald was raised in Winnipeg by his mother Judy, an architect, and his father Frank, a lawyer.
Dougald attended École Sacré Coeur, River Heights Junior High and St. John’s Ravenscourt on a scholarship, and has two degrees in English Literature (B.A. and M.A) from the University of Manitoba.
Dougald is bilingual having learned to speak English and French at a young age.
Working as a writer, editor and policy analyst for over 25 years in both the private and public sector, Dougald’s experience includes journalism & advertising, funding initiatives for start-ups, not-for-profits & charities, as well as advising elected officials and public servants on matters of the day.

Dougald's extensive knowledge of public policy was gained on the job through first hand experience including the Manitoba Museum, volunteering at Got Bannock, infrastructure at Western Economic Diversification, communications at Indigenous Affairs Manitoba, as well as advising political campaigns, candidates, elected officials and public servants.
He has taught Canadian Literature at the University of Manitoba, and most recently was a lecturer in government-business relations at the University of Winnipeg.
Dougald and his incredible wife Cecilia have been together since 1993 and have four spirited children: three girls and a boy.

Cindy was born and raised Tyndall Park, growing up living on Weitzel and Egesz and attending both Garden Grove and Stanley Knowles school. She has work experience with the Senate of Canada, The Long-Term Care Association of Manitoba(LTCAM) and for a Federal Minister.
​
Throughout her working career, she supported herself through five years of post-secondary education obtaining a Certificate in Christian Studies from Horizon College and a diploma for a double major in Political Science and Religion & Culture from the University of Winnipeg. She is currently completing her Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy.
​
She is a reliable and dedicated volunteer around the community. She also enjoys traveling, learning about new cultures and community development.
Some of her priorities include Senior Care, Justice and Immigration.

Dr. Jon Gerrard
MLA River Heights

Dr Jon Gerrard is your elected Member of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba for the constituency of River Heights. He has held the seat for River Heights since being elected initially in 1999.
Between 1985 and 1992, Dr Gerrard was director of paediatric oncology and hematology at the Children’s Hospital. He has also taught medicine at the University of Manitoba between 1980 and 1993.
From 1993 to 1997, Dr Gerrard was secretary of state for the Chrétien government. He was the leader of the Manitoba Liberal Party from 1998 until 2013.

Dr. Jon Gerrard has used his previous experience as a pediatrician at Winnipeg's Children's Hospital and as a Member of Parliament and federal cabinet minister to help improve the lives of people in River Heights and Manitoba.
Jon and his wife Naomi reside in River Heights and are active members of our vibrant community.
