After opening remarks from the Leader Dougald Lamont, MLA Dr. Jon Gerrard will give us an MLP Caucus perspective on Aging and Housing  in Manitoba. Our panel of guests will then present on a variety of topics related to Aging & Housing.

Fostering Home Care Improvements Dr. Nancy Hansen, Head of U of Manitoba Disabilities Studies 

Age Friendly Community Planning Dr. Richard Milgrom, Head of U of Manitoba Dept. of City Planning 

Cooperative Home Care for the Elderly Danielle Turpin, Cooperative Housing Advocate 

Alternative Seniors Housing Model Gail Freeman Campbell, Daughters on Call

After our panelist presentations there will be a Q&A first with a panel of experts then with the attendees of the session. We will then break out into smaller groups for discussion and to draft policy ideas. 

Break Out Group Discussions in Zoom Rooms by Topic Area:

• Fostering Home Care Improvements
• Fostering Age Friendly Community Planning
• Fostering Cooperative Home Care
• A Seniors Housing Alternative

These ideas will be shared back to the larger group at the end of the breakout sessions, and will form the basis for our future policy development.

Policy Incubators, hosted by the Manitoba Liberal Party Policy Committee allow for members of the community to come together to discuss and develop better public policy for all Manitobans. We welcome a panel of experts from outside of the party to help broaden our understanding of the issues.
