Born in the riding of Assiniboia, Jeff Anderson has returned to run as a Liberal Candidate in the upcoming election. Having taught high school for 30 years, Jeff has worked in both Winnipeg’s inner city as well as in rural Manitoba. An enthusiastic football and basketball coach, he has had the opportunity to positively influence the lives of hundreds of young men and women during his career.
Jeff is a passionate advocate for improved literacy education. As President of the Manitoba Teacher Library Association, he worked to bring like-minded people together to fight against school library closures and improve students’ accessibility to otherwise expensive digital resources.
Recently, Jeff stepped away from his coaching duties with the Winnipeg Rifles football club to take on the role of coordinator for game day productions with the Rifles Board of Directors. He strongly believes that youth involvement in sport is key in the development of young people, helping to build confidence and lasting relationships.
Jeff and his wife Elise have a teenage son, Callum. With the future of his son’s generation in mind, Jeff has entered into politics eager to represent the electoral riding of Assiniboia as a newly elected MLA.
