Cathy Scofield-Singh is a Nurse Practitioner since graduating from the University of Manitoba Masters of Nursing NP program in Oct 2013.For the last couple of years she has been providing primary care health care services in Ste Rose-du-Lac, where she has been residing since 2001. Cathy has over 30 years of experience as an RN with a diverse nursing career including working in northern remote communities as a Primary Care Nurse for over 10 years.
As a Nurse Practitioner, Cathy is able to provide primary healthcare services to clients of all ages with a variety of health issues, from assessing a sore throat to supporting clients with complex health issues such as diabetes, high blood pressure or mental health issues. She believes in harm reduction, health promotion, disease prevention, education, providing a holistic approach to health care and encouraging her clients to take ownership of their health. The care she provides makes a difference in her client's lives.
Manitobans are facing multiple crises, including a healthcare crisis, meth and opioid addictions, mental health access, environmental and an economic crisis that have been developing under the current and last provincial governments. It will take forward thinking to find new ways to address these issues. The Manitoba Liberal Party listens to Manitobans and has developed innovative, forward thinking plans which will address these issues in order to build better health care and improve Manitoba’s economy.
Cathy possesses an individual drive and a deep commitment to be there for her clients, their families and her community which is why she has chosen to stand as the Liberal Candidate for the Dauphin Riding. If chosen to be the Dauphin MLA, Cathy will listen to her constituents and advocate on their behalf in the Manitoba Legislature.
