Increasing Awareness of Suicide and Improving our ability to prevent suicide

Recently in The Pas I had the opportunity to meet with a large number of bike riders who had peddaled 40 kilometers in an effort to bring better awareness to the problem of suicides and to push for better prevention of suicides.

In the top photo, I am with Georgina and Philip Constant. Georgina has been a prime mover behind this effort and has made it an annual event. There are too many suicides happening and we need to be a much better job of providing the nurturing environment for young people where they will no longer feel the desparate need for suicide. Young people are our future and we need to do better. Thank you Georgina for all your efforts in this respect.

In the bottom photo, I am with Rob Lindsay and Sydney Koshowski with the Opasquia Cree Times in The Pas. They are making every effort to report on the story so the message gets out.
