Gary Doer blasted as inept, hypocritical and out of touch with reality when it comes to Rapid Transit in Winnipeg

Today at noon before a full room at the Manitoba Legislature, I talked about the critical importance of Rapid Transit for Winnipeg and the urgent need for the province to include funding for Winnipeg's Rapid Transit system in the upcoming provincial budget due in April.

When it comes to Rapid Transit Gary Doer and the NDP have been inept. For eight years of his stewardship, not a shovel has been put in the ground to build Rapid Transit in Winnipeg.

When it comes to Rapid Transit Gary Doer has been hypocritical. Gary Doer has been prancing around the continent talking about his interest in climate change, and yet he has done nothing to develop Rapid Transit in Winnipeg - one of the most important measures for long run reduction of greenhouses gases in Manitoba.

When it comes to Rapid Transit for Winnipeg, Gary Doer and the NDP have been out of touch. Only the Manitoba Liberal Party put a stake in the ground during the last election to say they would deliver Rapid Transit for Winnipeg. The Liberal Party is the most progressive, innovative and forward thinking party in Manitoba. The NDP and the Tories are stuck in the past. The Liberals believe strongly in the future.
