The NDP are up to no good - again

I had no sooner arrived in Dauphin when I was assailed by Mayor Alex Pauls. Many people in the Dauphin region have been working hard for a long time to develop a plant for processing hemp. The plant is very close to being ready to go. During the election, the NDP were very enthusiastic about the plant and promised to contribute $2 million toward the plant to make sure it got off to a good start.

Well guess what - as soon as the election was over - the NDP came back and said they would provide $1 million. It is the big difference between what was promised during the election and what the NDP are saying now, that has people in Dauphin upset. Why do the NDP do such shabby things - promise one thing one day, then half the next. What this demonstrates is that the NDP are just not to be trusted when they make promises. It is very sad, because it exactly this sort of behaviour which makes people cynical.

And, the NDP contortions are creating uncertainty for the Hemp plant project which only a short while ago was looking to be almost sure to go ahead.
